Pavla Cihlářová, GS1 Czech Republic

Pavla Cihlářová graduated from the University of Economics in Prague, majoring in economic information and control. After graduating, she worked for 10 years as a mathematician analyst and IT specialist at PORS Praha. In the early 1990s, she was one of the first experts to have the opportunity to gain theoretical and practical experience with electronic data interchange (EDI) within the framework of Czech-German cooperation. She later applied this knowledge to the position of manager for EDI communication in the EAN Czech Republic association, which she joined in 1995. The EAN Czech Republic association was later renamed GS1 Czech Republic, and Pavla Cihlářová has been its director since 2006. Under her leadership, GS1 Czech Republic has become a major organization involved in the development of standardization, automatic identification and data communication in the Czech market and is a trusted partner for nearly 9,000 local users of the GS1 System. Pavla Cihlářová is a member of the executive board of GS1 in Europe. At the local and global level, she cooperates with a number of expert groups that deal with standard identification. She is a member of the board of directors of the Czech Confederation of Commerce and Tourism.
