Jan Maršák is a graduate of the doctoral program at the Faculty of Environmental Protection Technology of the University of Chemical Technology in Prague and the field of political science / sociology at the Faculty of Social Studies of Masaryk University in Brno. Since 2003, he has been working at the Ministry of the Environment (MoE) in various positions, and he is currently the director of the waste department of the MoE. As part of his professional activities, he focuses on the area of European legislation for waste and circulation management, the strategy of waste and the circular economy in the Czech Republic, and the legislation on waste and the circular economy in the Czech Republic. He is responsible for drafting new legislation on waste, packaging and single-use plastics. He publishes professional articles mainly on the topics of waste and the circular economy.
