David Surý was born in Uherské Hradiště and studied sociology and andragogy at Palacký University. He started his professional career in several companies as a project manager, data analyst and systems architect. He was the head of the project team at Palacký University. As deputy mayor, later councilor of the city of Uherský Brod, he was in charge of the environment, especially waste management, as well as ICT and tourism. Since September 2022, he has been working at the Ministry of the Environment as a deputy minister and is in charge of managing the environmental protection section. He is married, in addition to traveling, he is engaged in hunting, tourism, nature and horse riding.
